This is the first in a series of videos that will cover the past months travels. This "Islamorada Tarpon" video was recorded between the 16th and 20th of May. The five days after the new moon. It was glass calm and hot during the day with night time thunderstorms. We saw many tarpon and I had 5 good fish eat flys and caught one big fish on 20lb conventional during a night session. My night session were sabotaged by bad weather but compared to the shocking conditions that arrived the day I left and continued to make the 2007 season one of the worst on record, I was lucky. My mate Captain Keith had to endure some tough conditions for his yearly break and this video is dedicated to him. By the way the stills at the end of the video one is Keith fish jumping from 2004 and the others are of my personal best fish caught in 2006. Among the several fish in '06 were 4 night time fly tarpon and that fish. It's measurements 38 inch girth X 74.5 inch length to fork of tail.
By the way this video was made in about 20 minutes using the new ilife imovie08 on the very day it was released.
