Crazy underwater footage of marlin, whales and sea lions eating bait-balls off Cabo San Lucas.

Hi Folks,

You want to check this underwater video I made on Saturday.  I took out world renown underwater photographers Doug Perrine and Marc Montchio to Golden gate banks for some underwater photography of the marlin, whales and sea lions chasing the bait-balls. 

They were kind enough to let me jump in with them.  It was incredible.  I had a Bryte’s whale eat a bait ball 5 feet in front of me.  He then continued right at me, but slipped under me.  I reached down and ran my hand along his back and dorsal fin.  Incredible!!!
Then to see the marlin and sea lions going crazy on the bait-balls just feet in front of my face.  This experience tops everything I have done before.

I had some problems with my video camera that day, so I only got about 15 minutes of footage.  I edited it down to 3 minutes. This is incredible stuff. 

Sunday:

The guys squared me away with my camera and got me some fins.  So I got much better footage on Sunday.  The camera footage blew me away.  I actually had marlin feeding right next to me and had to turn them away with the camera.  The whale came at me from behind and underneath and spooked me for a second ate the bait-ball right in front of me.  I got that on tape.

I am kinda miffed at myself for not having any extra batteries fopr my camcorder.  I have loked all over Cabo and San Jose and couldn’t find any.  I only get about 50 minutes of recording. 

I will get the other videos out shorty.

Also, I will get a video out of Dr. Greg Van Zant catching and landing a triple striped marlin on the fly.  Greg fished 7 days and caught 17 marlin on the fly.  Amazing!
