The best tribute to Del Brown might be that the permit fly fishing tournament that bears his name has become an annual tradition for a cast of characters who are as driven and innovative about the sport as he was.

Nineteen teams of anglers and captains will vie to catch and release the most and largest permit at the fourth annual Del Brown Invitational Permit Tournament next week. They will fish out of Hurricane Hole Marina on Stock Island, adjacent to Key West, March 10-12.
