River and Reef friend Nassim Joaquin has to cancel a trip to Cuba in March 2008.
I have to cancel a trip to the Island of Youth, Cuba for March 21-29, 2008.
The fishing here is outstanding for medium to big size tarpon in clear water, as well as plenty of bonefish and snook. There are also plenty of shots at mutton snapper tailing at the flats. Permit is also available but in less numbers than the tarpon, snook & bones.
Very few people have fished the area and it is truly one of the best kept secrets of the Americas.
I got some pictures if anyone is interested in seeing them. And I will put you in touch with the outfitter. Give you the entire information: price,lodging, etc,.
I am dying to fish that area, that promises to be even better than the Gardens of the Queen. Unfortunately something important came out for me and I have to cancel and don't want to give away my deposit.
If anyone would like to try this. Contact me ASAP. I unfortunately will try to make it some other time...
