Randall Bryett
Randall Bryett grew up on the Sunshine Coast of Australia with some the worlds best fishing around every corner. He has worked in many aspects of the fishing industry including chasing the Giant Black Marlin at the prestigious Lizard Island. He is a avid fly fisherman who likes to find his own path. When not traveling he resides in Northern California with his wife Kate and their adopted cats.
Really when anglers start talking about big rods #14 and bigger do they understand how much stronger that they have to be as angler. Trey Combs says it best in his book Bluewater Flyfishing. He understands that to cast and fight a large gamefish on one of these rods requires strength and endurance that the average fly angler does not usually have. The big game fly fishing era is coming, tippet size increase may well be accepted to by the institutions such as IGFA as will a increased shock length. Technique and equipment improvements will make catching giants far easier but will the anglers be up to task?
