Bonefishing!
By Randall Kauffman

Photos By Brian O’Keefe
Illustrations by Mike Stidham

With my first "10 spare minutes" book review I thought it would be nice to comment on a book that I loved. My choice of titles was not hard. Fishing titles are a dime a dozen these days especially when it comes to "how to" reference. Finding one that gives you the information you require just by reading the title often is impossible. Not the case with this book! I would have to say this is THE book when it comes to Bonefish. Within the 400 or so pages you will find everything you will need to know to become a successful Bonefisherman. Technique, tackle, habitat, angling strategies, correct catch and release procedures are just some of the vital information that is contained between the covers. Of course how can you not have such insightful facts and figures when the likes of Brian O'Keefe are involved. Brian's knowledge and experience of bonefishing in a range of destinations is as invaluable to this book as are his photos. Speaking of the photography, this has to be one of the most awe-inspiring layouts you will ever see. To me "Bonefishing" reeks fishing and the photos are as informative as they are beautiful. After the first hundred pages or a flick throught the enitre volume your thoughts most definatley turn to the exotic places that Bonefish grace with their presence. Other species such as Permit and Tarpon have their own paragraphs. The destination information may encourage you to plan a trip. Of course Kaufmann can help with this and it is a wonderful tie to his business, however, don't worry this is not the emphasis. At $79.95 it is one book to add to your christmas and birthday wish list! If you cant wait it is $80 bucks well spent.
